Please read these terms carefully before hiring a vehicle from Eagle Rent. By booking a vehicle through our website or directly, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. About Us
Eagle Rent is a vehicle rental company based in the United Kingdom. References to "Eagle Rent", "we", "us", or "our" refer to Eagle Rent.
2. Eligibility & Driver Requirements
- › You must be at least 21 years of age and hold a full, valid UK or EU driving licence.
- › Your licence must have been held for a minimum of 2 years.
- › You must have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence. Certain endorsements (DR, DD, CD, TT, UT) will disqualify you.
- › You must have no disqualifications in the past 5 years.
- › You must provide a valid photo driving licence and proof of your current address before or at the start of the rental.
- › You must hold a valid credit or debit card in your name for the security deposit.
- › We reserve the right to decline any rental at our discretion, including if we are unable to verify the above.
3. Bookings & Confirmation
- › A booking is only confirmed once a security deposit has been paid and you have received a written confirmation from us.
- › We reserve the right to cancel or modify a booking if a vehicle becomes unavailable due to mechanical failure, accident, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases we will offer an alternative vehicle or a full refund.
- › All prices displayed are in GBP (£) inclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
4. Security Deposit
- › A refundable security deposit is required at the time of booking. The deposit amount is displayed on the vehicle listing.
- › The deposit will be returned in full within 5 working days of the vehicle being returned, provided: (a) the vehicle is returned on time and in the same condition as collected; (b) no traffic fines, tolls, or penalties are outstanding; and (c) the vehicle has not been used in breach of these terms.
- › We reserve the right to retain all or part of the deposit to cover damage, excess mileage, fuel shortfalls, late return charges, or outstanding fines.
- › The deposit does not limit your liability — if the cost of damage exceeds the deposit, you remain liable for the difference.
5. Rental Period & Late Returns
- › The rental period begins and ends at the times stated in your rental agreement.
- › You must notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to extend your rental. Extensions are subject to availability.
- › Vehicles returned late without prior notice will be charged at the daily rate pro-rata for each additional day or part thereof.
- › Failure to return the vehicle may result in the vehicle being reported as stolen and legal action being pursued.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
- › Cancel 48+ hours before rental start: Full deposit refund.
- › Cancel 24–48 hours before rental start: 50% of deposit refunded.
- › Cancel less than 24 hours before / no-show: Deposit is non-refundable.
- › Cancellations must be submitted in writing via our website or email.
- › If Eagle Rent cancels your booking, a full refund will be issued within 5 working days.
7. Vehicle Use
The vehicle may only be used in the following manner:
- › Driven only by the named hirer(s) stated in the rental agreement.
- › Used solely for lawful purposes on public roads in the United Kingdom.
- › Not used to carry more passengers or load than the vehicle is legally permitted to carry.
- › Prohibited uses: racing, off-road driving, sub-letting, use outside the UK without prior written consent, carrying hazardous materials, or any illegal activity.
- › The vehicle must not be smoked in. A cleaning charge of up to £150 will be levied for smoking.
- › The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided. A refuelling charge applies for shortfalls.
8. Insurance & Damage
- › All vehicles are provided with comprehensive insurance as required by law.
- › In the event of an accident or damage, you must: (a) report it to us immediately; (b) obtain the other party's details; (c) do not admit liability; and (d) complete our incident form.
- › You are liable for the first £500 of any damage caused during your rental, up to the value of your deposit.
- › Damage to tyres, windscreens, underbody, roof, or interior caused by misuse is not covered by insurance and will be charged to you in full.
- › Eagle Rent is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle.
9. Vehicle Condition & Inspections
- › A pre-rental inspection will be conducted before handover. You will receive a condition report noting any existing damage.
- › A post-rental inspection will be conducted on return. Any new damage will be documented and you will be notified.
- › You accept the vehicle in the condition noted in the pre-rental inspection report. By collecting the vehicle, you confirm that you have reviewed and accepted the report.
10. Mileage
Unless otherwise stated in your rental agreement, there is no mileage restriction on standard hires. Any mileage limits stated in your agreement will be clearly noted, and excess mileage will be charged at the rate specified.
11. Roadside Assistance & Breakdown
In the event of a breakdown, please contact us immediately on our provided emergency number. Do not attempt to repair the vehicle yourself. Any costs incurred due to damage caused by the hirer will be deducted from the deposit or invoiced accordingly.
12. Traffic Offences & Fines
You are responsible for all traffic penalties, fines, congestion charges, parking charges, and toll fees incurred during your rental period. If we receive a fine that was incurred during your rental, an administration fee of £30 will be applied in addition to the penalty amount.
13. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Limitation of Liability
Eagle Rent' total liability to you in connection with any rental shall not exceed the total rental charges paid by you for that specific rental. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of income or loss of profits.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
16. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your booking shall apply to your rental.
